The biological environment around PW

Our school is right behind me. There evergreen trees around the school.

This is our mini school.

The leaves fall in the winter. The snow melts faster on the fallen leaves.

PW Composting System

The green cones outside of our school.

This is the composting bag made of corn.

The is the compost bin our school. There are 4 bins on the first floor and 3 bins on the secound floor.

This is the green cone accerlerator powder.

The environment club is doing the composting in the school. There are shift once two day. Environment club members take turn composting. In order to reduce the usage of corn bags, members usually wash the bags after dumping the fruits and vegetable. It is gross, but if we don;t do anything nobody will.

How does a strawberry look like inside a microscope?

This strawberry was picken up from the PW Garden. Because strawberries' season had past, this was the only strawberry I can find. The strawberry had a very sweet smell, but the taste was sour.

i cut a little piece of the strawberry and put it under a microscope. From the microscope you can see many water bubbles. This is the reason by strawberries is juicy.

PW Garden :)

This is a bed that belong to the biology classes.

The PW garden club planted strawberries and carrots in this bed.

The PDA Field Trip at UBC

My Gene is +/-.

Inside this small container, it contain my very only DNA. Blue colouring is added to be visible for human is to see in the next process.

Then we insert  our DNA in to a special jell in order for the DNA to move from one side to the other,

It takes 30min for it to show our gene type.

A picture was taken by a special camera.

No11 was my result.

mushroom circle

This is a mushroom cirle Ms Chung showed us. It is also called Angek Ring because in the past people believe it formed by angel dancing in circles.
